Homestead Ledger — Terms and Conditions
Effective September 17, 2026
These terms govern your use of Homestead Ledger and its connected services, provided by Midpoint Software Group ("we," "us," or "our"). The End User License Agreement covers your license to the app. The Privacy Statement explains our handling of personal information.
Agreement and eligibility
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and the EULA. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. If you are below the age of legal adulthood, a parent or legal guardian must authorize your use and accept these terms. If you use the service for a business, you must have authority to act for that business.
Your account and shared farms
Provide accurate account information, protect your password, and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access. Each person should use their own account. Farm owners control invitations and access levels. Inviting someone allows them to view or change records according to their role. Only share records you are authorized to share. Removing access cannot recall copies or exports another person already made.
Your records and permission to process them
You retain your rights in the records, photographs, and other material you provide. You grant us permission to store, copy, transmit, display, and process that material only as needed to operate, secure, support, and provide the features you request, including sharing with your farm members and optional document scanning. You are responsible for the accuracy of your records and for obtaining permission to enter information about other people. Do not upload material that violates another person’s privacy or intellectual-property rights.
Record keeping and professional decisions
The app is a record-keeping aid, not veterinary, medical, legal, tax, accounting, or food-safety advice. Calculations, reference information, reminders, breeding dates, financial summaries, and withdrawal dates may be incomplete or incorrect. Confirm important information independently. Follow the product label and your veterinarian’s instructions for medication, dose, and meat or milk withdrawal periods. Consult a qualified tax professional before relying on financial exports for a filing.
Optional document scanning
When you choose to read a document, its images, your hint, and relevant farm context are sent through our server to Anthropic’s AI service. See the Privacy Statement for the information involved. Review the extracted result and correct mistakes before saving it. AI can omit entries, misunderstand handwriting, or return incorrect amounts and dates. Scanning requires a connection and is subject to the usage limits shown in the service. Do not scan documents you lack permission to process.
Offline use, synchronization, and exports
Records may be stored on your device before they reach the server. Offline changes are not backed up to your account until synchronization succeeds. Changes made on different devices can conflict. Check sync status, resolve errors, and keep separate exports of important records. Signing out or deleting an account can remove unsynced local work. CSV and PDF exports are your responsibility after you save or share them.
Subscriptions and payments
Some features require Homestead Ledger Pro. Available features, prices, billing periods, and trial terms are shown before purchase. Apple or Google handles store purchases under its payment and refund rules; we do not receive your full payment-card details. RevenueCat helps us verify purchases and determine access.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled under the applicable store rules. For Apple purchases, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid renewal; Apple may charge the renewal during that final 24-hour period. Manage or cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Any trial conversion and price changes follow the disclosures and consent rules of the applicable store. Refund requests go to the store unless applicable law requires another remedy.
Deleting the app, leaving a farm, or deleting your Homestead Ledger account does not cancel a store subscription. Cancel it separately if you want future billing to stop. A farm’s Pro access may depend on its owner’s subscription; it is not a separate subscription for every invited member.
Acceptable use
Do not access another person’s account or farm without permission, bypass access controls or usage limits, disrupt the service, introduce harmful software, or use the app unlawfully. Do not resell access to the service without our agreement. Lawful rights to interoperability, security research, and other activities that cannot be restricted by contract remain unaffected.
Availability and changes
We may maintain, update, or change the service. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free results, or compatibility with every device. For material changes to paid access, we will provide notice and any cancellation or other remedy required by law or the store rules. Beta and TestFlight releases may change more frequently and may contain unfinished features.
Account deletion and suspension
You can start deletion in Settings → Delete account, or on the farm setup screen. Contact us if you cannot access your account. Deletion removes your account and the farms you own, including their records and other members’ access. Membership in farms owned by someone else is removed; your contributions to those farms may remain without attribution to your deleted account. Uploaded files and this device’s local records are removed as described on the deletion screen. Review the Privacy Statement for backups, legally required retention, and third-party billing records.
We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address misuse, security threats, unpaid charges, or legal obligations. Where practical and lawful, we will explain the reason and provide an opportunity to resolve the issue or export your records.
Warranties and responsibility
Except for warranties and remedies that applicable law requires, the service is provided as available, without a promise that it will meet every requirement or be free of errors. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, resulting from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable consumer guarantees, fraud, or liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is prohibited.
Disputes and applicable law
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern. North Carolina law governs these terms, except where mandatory laws of your place of residence apply. These terms do not require arbitration, waive class-action rights, or take away a court or remedy that applicable law gives you.
Updates to these terms
We will identify revisions by their effective date and give notice of material changes through the app or other appropriate means. Where fresh agreement is required by law, we will request it. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
